Blackhat Storyline

(If the negative reviewers here thought they were getting a superhero movie like 'The Avengers', then they weren't paying attention to the previews :-) .If you like taut, slow-burn suspense thrillers like Alfred Hitchcock's films and 'The Drop' in 2014 with James Gandolfini (which I thought was excellent), ! then please *go see this movie* in the theater; I think you will like it. Following the movie plot is important -- the script is sparse (my only real objection); so it's important to track the plot developments. The cybercrime technology in the movie includes current techniques such as RATs (Remote Access Trojans) and keypad trackers.) Blackhat features a computer hacker (Chris Hemsworth) who is furloughed from prison to counter-attack an elite cybercrime team. I plan to see it a second time in the theater with other friends.

As Webb said on reflection 'The reason I'd enjoyed such smooth sailing for so long hadn't been, as I'd assumed, because I was careful and diligent and good at my job.. The truth was that, in all those years, I hadn't written anything important enough to suppress'.

Inspired by the life of Pulitzer prize-winning journalist Gary Webb (Jeremy Renner) and his 'Dark Alliance' exposé on the explosion of crack cocaine in the United States (which inevitably ruined his career), the film draws attention to the power and reach of fourth and fifth estate journalism and to the subjective objectivism of its gatekeepers.

Renner's (THE HURT LOCK, THE BOURNE LEGACY) performance is captivating in its subtlety; allowing momentary characters including Norwin Meneses (Andy Garcia), Fred Weil (Michael Sheen) and Jerry Ceppos (Oliver Platt) to drive the story's factual elements in a similar manner experienced by Webb.T! he longer I cogitate on Michael Cuesta's KILL THE MESSENGER, the more I realise just how unobtrusively compelling this film truly is. It may also explain why Cuesta opted to gloss over the pivotal points of this sad story and tie it up in Webb's panegyric acceptance speech and closing title card.

You can catch me at my handle and at The Hollywood News. Renner becomes more unashamedly haggard with dwindling moments of indignation on screen at each roadblock.

Having said all that, if you take the time to reach beyond this controversial surface story and embrace Sean Bobbitt's intimate framing and selective foci, you'll discover Gary; a doggedly passionate and humanly flawed individual whose good intention to report a story 'just too true to tell' results in an overwhelmingly biased and unfair challenge on his credibility and integrity with devastating consequences.

Overall, I quite enjoyed this film and would reco! mmend that you take some time out to see it. The use of medium! and close-up shots and oscillating lighting gives you a bird's eye view to Renner's struggles as the voraciously shocking professional and personal smear campaign takes its toll. Sure it has its flaws –but so does Gary Webb and the story itself - but that's why it works.

A reporter becomes the target of a vicious smear campaign that drives him to the point of suicide after he exposes the CIA's role in arming Contra rebels in Nicaragua and importing cocaine into California. Based on the true story of journalist Gary Webb.

The Dark Knight Rises Storyline

Despite his tarnished reputation after the events of The Dark Knight, in which he took the rap for Dent's crimes, Batman feels compelled to intervene to assist the city and its police force which is struggling to cope with Bane's plans to destroy the city.

I found myself more worried about the pain in my posterior than the emotional final minutes after almost 3 hours that I had spent in a cramped seat, but that's just how I am..(I know I do) I hope people don't compare Tom Hardy's performance to Heath Ledger's, its completely unfair and the two characters are very different. Christian Bale, as always is great as Batman. One of the best superhero movie villains, I've ever seen.

Sorry if I'm being all fan-boyish and kissing this movie's behind, but I really admire it. The terror caused by him, is completely believable and quite menacing. Just read the comics.) If one were to gripe, and I suppose there will never be a film ! made that one cannot find a point at which to grip, it is painfully long running time here. This is a true cinematic experience, to behold. Anne Hathaway was completely engrossing, she became "Catwoman", just like Michele Pfeiffer did, although their interpretations were very different, both were equally effective. The movie is incredibly well made, its huge production is quite breathtaking to view. The movie exceeded my expectations in terms of action, and entertainment. Marlion Cotilliard, Michael Cane, Gary Oldman, and others all did well in their respective roles. Tom Hardy was the main villain "Bane" completely shattered my expectations. The movie's score high-lites many of its incredible scenes, and at times, it takes your breath away. Now I know most will miss Heath Ledger as the Joker. It may not be among my personal favorites but generally this seems to be the movie event of this year. As a film though, this is amazing.I had the honor of wa! tching TDKR during a screening and was completely blown away! ! Christopher Nolan's third film in his Batman trilogy doesn't disappoint. A true lasting legacy in superhero story telling and summer-blockbusters.

The film featured excellent performances, by all the cast. However the ending is just fantastic, so emotional and bring the trilogy to a very satisfying end.

The colossal size of the film is a spectacle to behold, but surprisingly you don't get lost with all the explosions and extravagant action scenes, like in other films,(AKA Transformers, or POTC.

So ending with a request to the reputed film-makers, the trend of sequel is acceptable only if the Part Twos and Threes have something novel, better and substantial to give to the viewers expecting a lot. The famous Daya from the never ending serial CID continues breaking the doors in the film too and it sounded quite weird to hear a devotional kind of song calling for the Almighty's help (at the Dargah) made purely like a love ballad with all slow western beats instead of a traditional Indianised rhythm.

With a more than 140 minutes of duration, the film becomes all predictable and boring towards the end. Moreover both the cinematography and background score continuously give you an impression of 'Deja Vu' with nothin! g fresh or path breaking. One the repetitive yet spirited performance of Ajay Devgun, second (thankfully) only two mediocre songs in the narrative and most importantly one particular sequence guiding the viewers about how a lady can only be arrested by the lady police officers alone as per the strict law.The first thought I had after watching SINGHAM RETURNS was, that is this really a Rohit Shetty film? The hit-machine's latest project with no spirited highs, no great entertaining moments, no jaw dropping action and all repeated seen before stuff served uninterestingly? Or to put it in different words, a product unlike Shetty, which was supposed to be a power packed entertaining explosion but sadly keeps dropping constantly till the end with no exceptional climax which was actually the USP of its first part. Therefore please make any sequel only when you have got some newness to add to the hit concept, otherwise let it be. In fact the two villains Amol Gupte and Zakir ! Hussain never seem to be any kind of powerful opponents as com! pared to Prakash Raj witnessed in the earlier part and no-one else in the supporting cast gets the attention of its writers too.

But apart from that, frankly I found nothing to be discussed in details as there is no novelty in the story progression at all and other than Ajay Devgun (and to some extent Mahesh Manjrekar & Anupam Kher) not even a single actor comes up with a worth mentioning act to be straight.

In short I found only three positive points in SINGHAM RETURNS.. The basic plot line reminded me of Chiranjeevi's PRATIBANDH released in 1990 and the climax made me recall Rupa's undergarments advertisement hilariously.

Hence this time Rohit is not well equipped with many enjoyable peaks in his script and the film keeps moving at the same level with no major twists & turns (with an excessive use of Marathi) shattering all reputation built by the director's earlier blockbusters. Kareena remains the usual glamour d! oll in all forced in sequences falling flat and their love doesn't even seem to be a part of the film throughout.

However with SINGHAM RETURNS, Rohit strangely tries to walk on the path of Madhur Bhandarkar in a different way by mocking few known personalities like Smriti Irani, Barkha Dutt, Asaram Bapu, a major political party and its leaders. So the part two is not able to surpass its prequel by any standards (including the scale) and putting it rightly this can easily be stated as a step backward, both in terms of execution as well as entertainment offered to its viewers. Because of which as the Honey Singh song's started playing along with the credits, I was also whispering the same words in desperation saying Aata Majhi Satakli………. The action isn't any step ahead than his previous works and neither are the dialogues which formed the backbone of SINGHAM as everyone strongly remembers.
